Imagine a life where the liquid that flows through your veins has the potential of reducing your risk for cancer, boosting your immune system, aiding digestion, removing toxins from your body and even – wait for it – making your skin glow! Okay, maybe forget the glow bit, but, how awesome would it be to have such good things happening to you just by juicing yourself up naturally?

Below are some natural juice recipes that jut might turn your life around!


(My girlfriends gave it this name after I would wake them up to it after several long nights of drinks, games, laughs and gossip. They claim it was one of the ways that kept them looking 22 at 27. This wonder just has a way of maintaining your weight and relieving any digestive problems you might have. Have a go at it!)


  • 1 cup diced cucumber
  • 2 freshly squeezed medium sized lemons
  • ½ an orange
  • 3 tablespoons of finely blended ginger
  • 1 cup water

Mode of Preparation:

  • Make sure fruits and vegetables are properly washed
  • Blend ingredients until smooth
  • Serve chilled and garnish with lemon or cucumber.

PS: if you are not a big fan of lots of pulp in your drinks, go ahead and use a strainer.


(If you’re a fruit lover, this recipe will be addictive! Not only will you have a generous supply of Vitamin C and antioxidants but your brain will surprise you with a sharpness you never thought you could have!)


  • 1 cup diced mango
  • 1 cup peach
  • 1 cup blended tangerine without seeds
  • ½ cup diced watermelon without seeds
  • 1 ½ cup coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon ginger if desired

Mode of preparation:

  • Pour all ingredients into a blender
  • Blend until smooth
  • Serve chilled



(Trust anything that can be considered a medicinal delight! Trust this devil! Drinking this 4 times a week for 2 weeks got rid of my constipation problems for almost 2 months. I didn’t just have free regular bowels. I also noticed that my almost frequent colds were dealt with a lot quicker and my skin started looking much healthier.)


  • 6 well washed guava leaves
  • 1 ½ cups of diced guava
  • 1 cup diced watermelon with seeds
  • 3 strawberries
  • 1 cup of water

Mode of preparation:

  • Blend all ingredients until smooth
  • Serve over ice



(This juice is for anyone on a diet who can’t do away with their spice. It has quite a unique flavour because of its dry and rooty yet sweet nature)


  • 1 cup chopped and peeled Jicama
  • 2 medium sized carrots
  • ½ sweet ripe pear
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • ½ tablespoon cayenne pepper if desired
  • 1 cup of water

Mode of preparation:

  • Blend the Jicama until smooth and pour in a cup or bowl
  • Chop the carrots up into blendable sizes, ½ cup of water and blend
  • Add remaining ingredients to the mixture and blend until smooth
  • Put together the just blended mix and Jicama in one container
  • Stir thoroughly, adding remaining half cup of water
  • Serve chilled



(This juice is great for anyone battling with diabetes. Blueberries are useful because they are high in phyto-chemicals which help prevent and fight type2 diabetes and improve insulin sensitivity. The broccoli has more vitamin C than an orange, contains beta-carotene, promotes healthy vision, is anti-inflammatory, and has nutrients that support detox. This juice might not be the most pleasant when gulping it down but remember to keep your eye on the prize! Let’s fight diabetes!)


  • 20 blueberries
  • 10 broccoli florrets
  • 1 cup of water

Mode of preparation:

  • Trim off all leaves that are attached to the stalk of the broccoli
  • Wash, don’t soak, broccoli under cool running water
  • Trim off the end of each stalk, leaving about 1 inch below the florrets
  • Put all 10 florrets into a bowl
  • Wash the blueberries thoroughly under running water
  • Remove the bloom from the berry
  • Put remains of the berries in a bowl
  • Put blueberries and broccoli florrets into a blender and add water
  • Bend till smooth
  • Serve over ice (It makes drinking a lot more pleasant.)
