  1. THE GRAPE FRUIT DIET: The famous Grapefruit Diet has been around for years, and new evidence shows that grapefruit does indeed result in significant weight loss. Scripps Clinic scientist Ken Fujioka conducted a 12-week study on 100 obese men and women and concluded that eating one half of one grapefruit before meals resulted in an average weight loss of 3.6 pounds with some participants losing more than 10 pounds. The research indicates a physiological link between grapefruit and insulin, as it relates to weight management. Fujioka speculates that the chemical properties of grapefruit reduce insulin levels and encourage weight loss.
  2. THE LEMON FRUIT DIET: Although lemon has been met with a lot of criticism from health advocates, there is no denying that the fruit has the ability to provide dramatic weight loss in a short period of time. The lemon diet gets a person to eat little or no solid food. This puts a pause on any unhealthy eating habits and gives the body a break. This is one likely means of ensuring weight loss in many individuals. All a person has to do is drink freshly squeezed glasses of lemon as many times as possible in the day. This can be mixed with water (or ice preferably).
  3. THE ORANGE DIET: The orange diet is a 2-day designed diet meant to quickly eliminate excess body weight and accumulated toxins. It involves two days without solid food and eating as many oranges as the necessary. There is also the Orange Juice Diet which is a simple way to lose weight over a two week period. This involves drinking as much freely squeezed organic orange juice as a person desires, as often as possible. Doing this gives the body a good cleansing as well as rejuvenation on a cellular level.
  4. THE POMELO DIET: This citrus fruit is rated an excellent weight loss food. The delicious fruit has properties which curb appetites and fight bacterial infections. Eating one solid balanced meal in the right proportions while substituting the other meals with 2 or 3 pomelos over 2 weeks will show significant signs of weight loss.
